Asian Handicap bets are a type of wagering system that is commonly used in sportsbook industries, particularly in Asian markets, and has gained widespread acceptance, but it has also gained popularity in other global betting sectors. It is considered an odds-based handicapping method used primarily in soccer (or شرط بندی شهرآورد پرسپولیس Association Football) betting. The underlying concept behind this system is to neutralize the points difference between the two teams playing, thereby creating a more balanced game.

Asian Handicap bets work differently from the traditional point spread system commonly found in American sports organizations. The point spread involves giving a favorite team points and requiring them to win by a certain margin to cover the spread, while a team that is favored by a certain number of points must win by the same number of points for the underdog to win bets.

In an Asian Handicap system, the underdog does not need to come out on top, all they have to do is to lose by a smaller margin than the handicap. Conversely, the favorite does not win outright as per traditional betting systems, since their advantage already reflects the points difference. In this system, the favorite team must win by two specific amounts in order for people betting on them to win. For example, in a match with a handicap of 20% and 80%, the favorite will have a 20% handicap and the underdog will have an 80% handicap.

For simplicity, let's describe a handicap system in terms of money as well as point margin. The most popular handicaps are 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1.00.

When you place an Asian Handicap bet on a match with a 0.25 handicap, the underdog gains a 25% advantage and the favorite has a 25% disadvantage. This implies that the favorite would need to win the match by one full goal for a bet placed on them to win, while the underdog would need to lose by less than one goal for their bet to win.

A 0.50 handicap is used for soccer matches where both teams have fairly equal odds of winning. This means that the underdog will have a 50% chance of winning if the score is tied at halftime. The handicap is divided in half. If a 50% handicap is used in a soccer game, it is split into 0.25 handicap and used in half.

A 0.75 handicap is similar to a half-goal handicap where the underdog would have to lose by less than three-quarters of a goal or the favorite has to win by more than three quarters of a goal.

A 1.00 handicap is used to denote a half-goal handicap in a soccer game. If the 1.00 handicap is applied to a soccer match, the underdog is considered to be at a full goal disadvantage.

Asian Handicaps also allow a type of bet known as 'Horse Asian line', where it combines multiple lines, but this type of handicap is much less common. However the system is useful for gamblers looking to minimize chance and increase potential returns.

Overall, the popularity of Asian Handicap bets can be attributed to their relatively lower stakes and relatively higher potential returns compared to traditional betting systems.
